A portfolio web site is an outmoded method for demonstrating competancy in direction and management. Once I reached the point in my career where efforts in all these areas were something I delegated and oversaw via the labor of others, placing examples of that work under a headline bearing only my name just doesn't feel right.
Furthermore I understand my responsibility in protecting company property and so other then external links to outside publicly-displayed assets, you won't find any samples of work from my current employer here.
I have moved from early creative and technical roles where my financial contribution consisted of cost-savings ideas into positions with more answerability to budget and bottom line. I passed through a stage of responsibility over the direct mail portion of three-casino-group marketing budget, until my current position where I manage a full casino multi-million dollar yearly marketing budget and answer (not alone and not ultimately, but still) to the growth in revenue and margin for the property.
Very obviously, none of the details of this experience will be posted publicly, since it is proprietary company information. I'd be happy to discuss my financial experience with you in person.
I have used my background in touching most areas of marketing personally to inform leadership and direction of marketing efforts from team members and vendors alike. This experience includes a wide net of promotion for various internal divisions like restaurant and hotel, balancing the logistics and demands of the operational front line against the goals and needs of the organization's aims.
With my background in technical skills and my past role as a systems analyst as well as marketing roles requiring database specialization, I have been called upon at times in my career to provide leadership both formally and informally to I.T. departments.
With twenty years of total experience in the casino industry, I have thorough familiarity with the overall operational challenges and opportunities facing mid-sized properties in a highly competitive environment. With ten years overseeing a small hotel division, I am intimately familiar with the high-level challenges of the operation as well as moving that inventory through the online arena of hotel listing partners. And with years of designing, conceiving, and tuning the customer service experience, I am a proud advocate of the service-oriented experience for both external and internal guests.
With decades in one of the most tightly regulated industries around, my management experience includes an unsual amount of experience interfacing with regulatory agencies and local government. I've tackled these tasks in order to remain compliant (protecting revenue via avoiding fines) as well as discover or address business development opportunities and challenges that arise as a result of new local policy, regulation, and direction.
